Leadership 2010 is the umbrella name for a series of initiatives led by the National Housing Federation to improve the diversity of housing associations’ leadership. The initiatives encompass all diversity issues, and are supported by a range of organisations.
In the 21st century, housing associations’ leadership should reflect its customer base, attract the best staff and reflect the wide range of skills to deliver the Federation’s campaign ‘iN business for neighbourhoods'.
To recruit a skilled and diverse pool of leaders for the twenty-first century, we need to invest in a range of initiatives to help new leaders (particularly those who have had fewer opportunities for training), and new styles of recruitment and assessment to ensure that a range of leadership styles, and particularly emotional intelligence, are valued.
This website has a number of pages, listed on the left, to explain the different initiatives, list relevant events and contacts, and a response form for people wishing to join the Leadership 2010 network.
